The Healing Circle

The Healing Circle is based on the invitation of Jesus: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:28-29 NIV) The Healing Circle is for the soul weary, the brokenhearted, the traumatized, and the overwhelmed. It is a journey of integration and healing for the soul, mind and body.

The Healing Circle is a five-week multi-media lament processing group. The Circle meets for 45 minutes and will have on-line and in person opportunities. Because of the confidential covenant nature of the Healing Circle, cohorts will be limited between 5-10 participants.  The Healing Circle is open to all human beings regardless of race, class, gender, sexual identity, religious affiliation, cultural heritage or physical ability.

The facilitator of The Healing Circle is: Rev. Melvin L. Jones Jr. M.Div., BCC. He has 26 years of experience as a clinical chaplain. Rev. Jones is well grounded in empathetic, unconditional positive regard, healing practices.  Since 2007, Rev. Jones has served as the TBI/Polytrauma, Mental Health Chaplain for Edward Hines VA Medical Center. His ministry is informed by trauma and complicated grief with a vision toward post-traumatic growth rooted in spiritual integration.
